This connection details a wide flange structural steel member spliced with two-and-a-quarter-inch thick flange plates secured by twenty-six one-and-a-quarter-inch diameter Group B slip-critical bolts with Class B faying surfaces. Oversized holes are punched in the plates while standard holes are used in the wide flange member. The finished wide flange and stiffener plates bear per AISC specifications. Stiffener plates are welded with one-and-a-quarter-inch fillet welds typical at the stiffener plate.
