Cold-formed metal studs connect to an HSS column per plan via a continuous track sized to match the gauge and dimensions of the cold-formed steel joist. The studs attach to the continuous track with number ten sheet metal screws spaced at four inches on center typical. Powder-driven fasteners, specifically Hilti X-U or Simpson PDPA in pairs spaced at twelve inches on center, secure the assembly with a minimum point penetration of one-half inch into the steel column typical.
