Cold-formed metal studs terminate below the roof deck with a one-inch gap. A stud track matches the stud gauge, topped with an additional sixteen-gauge continuous track above the wall. The assembly fastens to the roof deck using number ten screws at twelve inches on center or half-inch diameter puddle welds at twenty-four inches on center. The continuous track width is sized to the stud width plus one-sixteenth of an inch with a three-inch flange.
