A continuous one-half-inch by twelve-inch steel plate spans across the ends of wood joists leaving a typical two-inch clearance. A hollow structural section member is welded to the top of the continuous plate with a typical two-and-one-half-inch weld. Two SDS25300SS structural screws secure each end of the joists to the continuous plate below.
