A header beam connects to a column per plan utilizing three-eighths-inch by three-inch by five-inch steel plates on each side. The plate is secured with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds with one-inch returns at the top and bottom. A maximum one-half-inch clearance is maintained at the column interface.
