The assembly consists of a parapet channel supported by a W8 column extension. The channel is secured to the column using two L4x3x3/8 inch angles, each six inches long, positioned on each side of the column web. Each angle is fastened to the W8 column with two 1/2 inch diameter A325 through-bolts. The top of the channel is attached to the angles using two 1/2 inch diameter carriage bolts on each side. The wide flange column is coped around the channel flange, maintaining a 1/2 inch gap between the channel and the column top.
