This assembly details a braced frame connection at a column and beam junction, utilizing a gusset plate to transition the diagonal bracing members. The gusset plate is connected to the column and beam flanges using complete joint penetration welds, noted as CJP and DCW (demand critical welds), applied to three sides typically. The diagonal bracing members are welded to the gusset plate with complete joint penetration demand critical welds. Column stiffeners and doubler plates are required as specified in detail 9/S-60013 to reinforce the connection zone at the work point. The assembly is positioned relative to the top of the slab where applicable.
