A square base plate welded to a hollow structural section steel column is anchored by four three-quarter-inch diameter by one-foot three-inch embedded heavy-hex anchor bolts, unless noted otherwise. A six-inch minimum blockout is centered on the column, with a sonitube blockout permitted as an alternative. A typical one-and-a-half-inch clearance is maintained from the base plate edge to the anchor bolt layout.
