A wide flange column connects to a Grade 50 steel base plate anchored by ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods sized per schedule. Type I details a standard column base plate with symmetrical anchor bolt spacing and fillet welds at the column flanges. Type II incorporates a gusset plate connection provided by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer, a shear lug located below, and complete joint penetration demand critical welds at the flanges. Grout holes are provided as required at the contractor's option.
