Two splice connection configurations illustrate centered flange and web thickness transitions for truss chords. When member thickness T1 is greater than or equal to 2.5 times thickness T2, a fillet weld sizing of 0.71 times T2 is applied unless noted otherwise. When thickness T1 is less than 2.5 times T2, a tapered transition with a 2.5 to 1 slope meets at a complete joint penetration weld.
