A glue-laminated stair tread bears on a 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4 x 0'-9" long leg horizontal angle bracket connected to the stair stringer per plan. The angle is secured to the tread with two 5/8 inch diameter by 2 inch long lag screws. A guardrail plate per architectural drawings is welded to the stringer with a 3/16 inch fillet weld. A maximum shim gap of 1/8 inch is filled with rigid material between the assembly components as needed.
