An angle brace connects to the top chord of an open web joist at the panel point where the bar meets the chord, welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. A new three-eighths-inch plate is welded to the existing wide flange beam with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. An existing concrete slab over metal deck spans above the joist assembly, with roof deck present only at similar conditions. A separate view details the wide flange beam connection to the open web joist utilizing a three-eighths by five-inch plate by zero-feet-five-inches long with an erection bolt as required and maintaining a one-inch minimum clearance.
