A built-up wind girt channel section connects to a structural steel column using top and bottom angles and a plate. The channel C15 member is secured to the column with an L6x3-1/2x3/8 by zero-foot-six-inch long angle at the top and bottom, and a 5/16 by 5 by zero-foot-eight-inch plate each side. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch size are specified typically on three sides, with near-side and far-side welding designations applied.
