Unfilled metal deck bears directly on structural steel beam flanges with specified end laps and deck welding per standard specifications. A two-inch minimum bearing length is required, with additional detailing required if the bearing width is less than two inches. Sidelap configurations feature a ten-gauge continuous plate beneath the overlapping deck profile with a two-inch minimum lap. All deck welding is executed in accordance with reference standard 10/SF6.11.
