Continuous longitudinal bars with stirrups pass through the structural joint, anchored by hooked longitudinal bars sized per plan. Transverse reinforcing consists of number five bars spaced at sixteen inches on center. The subgrade beneath the foundation is ripped, scarified, and recompacted in place to a minimum of ninety-five percent relative compaction with vapor retarder reinstated.
