This structural detail shows the connection and splicing of channel chord ties across steel joists with continuous bottom plates and three-eighths-inch by three-inch by one-foot-six-inch splice and strap plates centered over the joints. Fillet welds join the plates to the structural members as specified. Additional details illustrate alternate splices with one-foot-six-inch overlaps, ridge and valley configurations with bent plates, and intermediate conditions between joists.
