A post and spreader beam connection utilizes three-eighths-inch thick connection plates. The assembly incorporates three-eighths-inch by six-inch by zero-foot-six-inch plates secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts. Additionally, a three-eighths-inch by six-inch by zero-foot-eight-inch plate is provided with two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts and two-and-a-half-inch vertical slotted holes to accommodate movement. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are indicated at typical locations. The connection ties the structural post per plan to the spreader beam per plan at the specified top of steel elevation.
