A wide flange beam splice connection is located at one quarter span unless otherwise noted. The connection incorporates a plate thickness equal to the web thickness plus one quarter of an inch, sized per the structural plans. A one half inch gap is maintained between the beam ends at the joint. The connection uses bolts sized and numbered in accordance with the non-moment beam connection schedule. Fillet welds of one quarter inch size are applied to three sides as indicated.
