A structural steel column and a buckling-restrained brace connect to a base plate anchored over a reinforced concrete footing. The assembly features anchor bolts secured with heavy hex nuts and bearing on an embedded anchor plate within a grout pocket. A shear lug welded beneath the base plate transfers lateral loads into the footing, supplemented by additional reinforcing bars and "C" shaped hooked bars. A one-inch compressible material wraps around the buckling-restrained brace casing where it is cast into the concrete pour-back.
