A structural steel framing connection details a bottom flange brace framing into a supporting steel beam. A W-shape beam supports a metal deck with concrete fill above. An angle brace designated as L3x3x5/16 connects via a 6-inch by 6-inch by 3/8-inch plate to the bottom flange of the supported beam and welds to the supporting column or beam web. A full-height stiffener per detail 2 on sheet S0.4 is welded to the web of the supporting steel beam with a 5/16-inch fillet weld on three sides. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size are applied typically at the connection plates.
