A davit socket pedestal is welded directly to the top flange of a supporting structural steel beam with a three-eighths-inch fillet weld. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web and flanges using one-quarter-inch fillet welds. Additional one-half-inch by four-inch plates are provided on each side with one-quarter-inch fillet welds to the flanges and webs.
