A wide flange column sized per plan receives a bent plate assembly connecting channel braces at a slope of one to three. The three-eighths by nine inch bent plate is attached with a one-quarter inch fillet weld on three sides. Two seven-eighths inch diameter high strength bolts at five inch vertical gauge connect each side. The channel braces are C12x25 sections located on each side of the column web and flange.
