A horizontal construction joint details the transition between a first and second concrete wall pour. The interface features a roughened surface with a minimum amplitude of one quarter inch and a continuous edge notch. A continuous two-by-four is temporarily positioned at the joint and removed before the second pour. Form ties are located within three inches maximum of the joint. Continuous reinforcing steel continues through the joint.
