A standard concrete curb is set atop a concrete slab with a top of slab elevation reference line. The curb has a width varying between a five inch minimum and eight inch maximum, and a maximum height of twenty-four inches. Vertical reinforcing consists of number four bars spaced at sixteen inches on center with a one hundred thirty-five degree hook, skewed parallel to the curb as needed and anchored with epoxy per detail 6/S4.01. Longitudinal reinforcement includes continuous number four bars at twelve inches on center with a minimum of one continuous bar. A general note directs the user to detail 11/S4.22 for curbs that retain soil.
