Step reinforcing requirements for mild reinforced concrete slabs. All slab reinforcement must extend continuously through the joint. The key depth is specified as one-half of the slab thickness typically, or the entire surface may be intentionally roughened at the contractor's option. A minimum horizontal clearance of one foot from parallel post-tensioning tendons must be maintained. The detail applies strictly to mild reinforced slabs.
