Concrete grade beams feature continuous top and bottom steel reinforcement anchored at intersections and corners with ninety-degree standard hooks. Number five dowels provide continuity for top and bottom steel across the junction. Alternatively, dowels may be omitted by bending the continuous beam bars with a one-foot six-inch minimum extension.
