A hollow structural section steel beam is supported by a concrete tilt-up spandrel panel. The connection utilizes a three-eighths inch by ten inch by four foot long steel plate embedded in the concrete, secured with three-quarter inch diameter by five inch long heavy-duty sleeve anchors and one-half inch diameter by twenty-four inch long deformed bar anchors spaced at sixteen inches on center. A continuous four inch by four inch by three-eighths inch angle is welded to the embed plate, with bent plates provided at angled panel conditions. The hollow structural section is fillet welded to the embed plate with one-quarter inch welds at four inches on center, twelve inches long. A one-inch clearance is maintained at the panel joint where it occurs.
