An HSS12x6x1/2 structural steel stringer connects to the building structure near the exterior cladding line, featuring an end plate assembly with two one-half-inch plates secured by four one-half-inch diameter ASTM A307 bolts. A C-shape profile is welded to the plate with a quarter-inch fillet weld, and the plate is welded to the HSS member with a quarter-inch weld. The HSS stringer frames past an L4x4x1/4 angle at mid-span and ties back with a CMSTC14 strap welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld. The assembly integrates with a glulam beam and cross-laminated timber deck topped with concrete fill, notched to clear the structural steel elements.
