A hollow structural section post is supported by a structural beam below and frames into a supported beam above. The hollow structural section post features a one-quarter-inch thick cap plate secured with a seal weld at the top. The base plate and stiffener at the bottom of the post are detailed per sheet S701, anchoring the post to the top flange of the supporting beam. The connection to the supported beam is detailed per sheet S700, utilizing a bolted connection configuration. Both the top of beam elevations and member sizes are sized per plan.
