A metal building column bears on a one-inch thick base plate secured by four three-quarter inch diameter anchor bolts embedded eighteen inches into the concrete footing. The column is positioned with a minimum one-foot clearance from the edge of the slab and footing. The anchor bolts are arranged in a symmetric pattern with six-inch spacing between bolt centers.
