A structural steel detail featuring girder connections at a knife plate and shear plate across a hollow structural section column. The configuration accommodates one-sided or two-sided connections as well as three-sided or four-sided arrangements. Shear plates are extended for opposite connections where required. A companion table dictates the minimum hollow structural section wall thickness relative to the specified shear plate thickness, requiring verification prior to plate attachment.
