A concrete slab depression bears on a steel beam supporting a depressed metal deck. A structural ledger angle supports the lowered deck edge as specified on the structural plans. Reinforcement matching the size and spacing of the adjacent slab continues through the drop with a minimum six-inch lap at all edges of the depression.
