A steel truss girder bears on a column with a 3/4-inch by 14-inch plate and a 7/8-inch by 7-inch by 34-inch Grade 50 knife plate. The connection is secured with four 3/4-inch diameter machine bolts, with bolt size or grade subject to increase for wind uplift as verified by the joist or girder manufacturer. Additional 3/4-inch by 6-inch by 0'-6" plates are welded with typical 1/4-inch fillet welds, leaving specific areas left unwelded to the girder as noted. A steel joist connects at the top where indicated on the plan.
