Steel bar joists span vertically to support typical sub-purlins spaced at 24 inches on center. Double framing or members sized per plan occur at intermediate locations with typical joist hangers or approved equal connectors. Openings up to 1 foot 6 inches by 1 foot 6 inches and 4 feet 0 inches by 8 feet 0 inches are framed within the grid. An 8-inch diameter maximum hole is indicated through the plywood sheathing.
