Two number three diagonal reinforcing bars four feet long are centered on each corner of the interior column within the slab on grade. A one-inch thick polyfoam joint material wraps around each column to isolate it from the slab. The top half-inch of the polyfoam is removed after twenty-eight-day concrete strength is reached and filled with sealant per architectural drawings.
