The stiffener plate features a width matching the flange, unless otherwise noted, and has its corners trimmed typically to clear the structural fillets, leaving no weld at the K region. The plate thickness is specified as t, with a weld size of t over two on each side typical unless otherwise noted. General notes specify that stiffener thickness is called out in other details, the weld must conform to this detail, and the stiffener plate weld shall not exceed the beam web thickness and shall not be less than the AISC minimum.
