A steel girder plate is supported on a one-and-a-half-inch sole plate resting over a steel-reinforced elastomeric bearing pad with a three-eighths-inch gap typical. The assembly is anchored using one-and-a-half-inch diameter ASTM A193 Grade B7 threaded rods that are drilled and bonded one foot six inches into the substrate. Typical stiffener plates are welded to the girder plate with three-eighths-inch fillet welds. Nuts and washers secure the base plate to the threaded rods.
