A steel beam connects to a supporting wide-flange column utilizing a three-eighth-inch bent plate that extends two inches from the bottom flange. Three three-quarter-inch machine bolts fasten the connection through the plate. A one-quarter-inch typical fillet weld secures the assembly components.
