A davit socket pedestal is welded atop a base plate connected to a structural steel beam and column assembly. A half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plate is welded to each side of the beam web, accompanied by a half-inch stiffener plate placed between the beam flanges. A shear tab connects the beam web with four vertical bolts. Fillet welds of various sizes secure the stiffener plates and pedestal components to the column web and flanges.
