The cold-formed steel stud connects to the top track with a three-quarter-inch deflection gap at the slotted track. Each stud flange is secured with two number eight sheet metal screws centered in the slots. For jamb conditions, a Scafco ESC clip with two fasteners attaches the jamb to the structure above, utilizing two Hilti X-U power-actuated fasteners at concrete or steel, or two number eight sheet metal screws at metal deck. Two number fourteen shouldered screws provide typical attachment to the stud at the clip.
