Steel stiffener plates are welded to the web of a structural beam or column profile. Unless noted otherwise, the stiffener plate thickness matches the beam web with a one-quarter-inch minimum. Stiffener plates may occur on one or both sides as required per plan or applicable detail. Weld sizes are specified per the structural connection table.
