Cold-formed steel wall studs bypass the structural floor slab and steel beam, accommodating vertical slab deflection through specialized deflection clips. A continuous steel edge angle is mounted to the perimeter of the structural floor or roof deck, supporting the edge assembly. Deflection clips attach the cold-formed steel wall studs to the structural frame using mechanical fasteners to allow independent vertical movement without transferring gravity loads to the stud wall. Jamb studs are provided where openings or specific structural conditions occur along the wall run.
