A construction joint in concrete fill over a metal deck is reinforced with welded wire fabric or rebar sized per plan. Number 3 by twenty-four inch dowels are spaced at fourteen inches on center at the mid-depth of the concrete fill. The construction joint surface must be kept completely free of laitance. Typical steel decking details should be referenced for complete deck installation requirements.
