A buckling restrained brace connects to a wide flange steel column flange at a floor level using gusset plates and pin connections. A horizontal framing member with metal deck and concrete slab intersects the column. When the ends of the braces extend dimensionally into the slab, a one-half-inch foam bond breaker is used around the end.
