Roof decks running in opposite directions meet over a structural steel beam sized per plan at a work line intersection. A fourteen gauge shim is provided typically with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld spaced at four inches on center, twenty-four inches max, to the flange each side typically. The metal deck running in the opposite direction rests above the transition alongside the scheduled roof deck.
