A hollow structural section measuring four inches by four inches by five-sixteenths is connected to a variable steel column using a three-eighths-inch plate welded with typical three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A clearance of two inches is maintained between the structural steel column and the barrier assembly. Additional vehicle barrier configuration details are coordinated with the architectural drawings.
