A structural brace connects to the underside of a concrete slab on metal deck using an angle and a gusset plate anchored in the deck flutes. A plate measuring one-quarter inch by fifteen inches by one foot three inches fastens to the deck flutes using four three-quarter-inch-diameter expansion anchors with three-and-a-quarter-inch embedment spaced at twelve inches on center, maintaining one and one-half inches typical clearance between anchors. An angle measuring six by four by three-eighths inches by one foot zero inches long leg vertical welds to the plate with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on both sides.
