This structural steel connection features a gusset plate attached to a column and beam framing intersection, utilizing a bolted configuration for the brace connection. A minimum half-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the assembly, with five-sixteenth inch fillet welds applied to three sides at each side of the gusset plate. The work point is located at the center of the column and one-half of the actual beam depth from the top flange. Minimum dimensions for weld lengths are designated as L_wc and L_wb.
