This assembly connects hollow structural section braces to a horizontal beam using a half-inch thick gusset plate. Each brace is secured to the gusset plate with six three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts. The gusset plate is welded to the beam and column assembly with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds, with specific weld lengths noted as 6, 19, and 36 inches. A minimum clearance of one-half inch is maintained between the brace and the gusset plate edge. The beam flange is shown cut for clarity, and additional connection details are referenced on sheet 5/S-43004.
