A three-inch laminated timber decking assembly bears on a two-inch wood nailer trimmed to match the width of the supporting steel beam flange. The nailer and timber deck are secured using one-half-inch diameter by two-and-three-quarter-inch threaded studs spaced at two feet on center, complete with standard washers and nuts. The timber decking is notched around each stud location. Plywood sheathing tops the assembly. Individual decking courses are toenailed together with eight-penny nails at thirty inches on center, and each piece of decking is fastened to the nailer with two sixteen-penny nails.
